WHEELING, W.Va. — West Virginia Northern Community College and "Jobs and Hope" have partnered to put on a forklift safety and operation certification.

The two-day training included classroom work and hands-on experience.

“Jobs and Hope” aims to address the substance use disorder crisis through collaborations to provide services to participants.

This certification was an ideal way for both agencies to help people find jobs in the future.

"We've offered this training before and we do see quite a bit of a need, not just for forklift training, but for different types of training that work within the logistic sector,” said Dr. Philip Klein, V.P. for economic and workforce development at WVNCC.

"We really want to help them with those skills so they're able to go into the workforce and able to show that they have these skills and have gone through the training to show it,” Kelly Pizzoferrato, trabsition agent with “Jobs and Hope,” said.
