Forklift brake pad replacement cycle and disassembly installation method

Counts:258 Time: 22-05-02 From: Suzhou Teknect Engineering Co., Ltd.

First, the forklift brake pad replacement cycle.

The replacement cycle of the brake pads in the forklift accessories is mainly based on the operating environment of the vehicle and the driving habits of the forklift driver, and there is no particularly strict replacement cycle. Forklifts generally need to be fully inspected at about 3,000 small advances, and consider replacing them for about 6,000-10,000 hours. When the brake pedal of the forklift is observed or stepped on is too low, when the forklift maintenance needs to be disassembled to check the forklift brake pads are thin, the forklift maintenance technician should be required to check during maintenance, because there will be errors in naked eye observation, and professional forklift accessories maintenance personnel need to measure through calipers to be more accurate than naked eye observation.

Second, forklift brake pad disassembly method.

1. Open the brake oil pot to prevent spillage:

The first step in replacing the brake pads of a forklift truck begins with opening the oil jug. Since the brake sub-pump piston is reset during the subsequent replacement process, the oil of the brake oil circuit will be returned to the top, and if the brake oil of the forklift is relatively full, it may cause the situation to overflow from the oil tank. Therefore, it is necessary to open the oil pot lid and pad two sheets of oil absorbent paper to avoid oil spillage and prevent the forklift brake oil from being contaminated during the replacement of the brake pads.

2. Disassemble the forklift tires.

Since the brake pads are located on the inside of the forklift's front hub, remove the tires first and use a professional wrench to loosen the tire bolts and remove the tires. The forklift is then raised so that the forklift front wheel is suspended to facilitate the subsequent replacement operation.

3, after dismounting the tire, then dismount the half shaft, after the half shaft is taken out, then remove the fixing screw, fix the nut, and then take out the inner and outer bearings, and then take the wheel hub down, pay attention to the inner hub bearing and oil seal disassembly inside do not damage. Then you can see the brake pump and brake pads inside and other forklift brake system accessories.

4. Remove the hand brake cable. Then disassemble the tension spring on the brake pad, after releasing the brake pad, then remove the fixed spring on the brake pad, the fixed spring must be removed with a special tool, or use the strong pliers to tighten and then rotate from the above cross to a word, and then you can disassemble the fixed spring and remove the brake pad. Remove the fixed handbrake tensioner on top.

5. Disassemble the old brake sub-pump. After removing the inlet pipe and drain screw behind the brake sub-pump, then remove the lock screw on the brake sub-pump, and then you can remove the old brake sub-pump.

Third, forklift brake pad installation method.

The method of installing the brake pads of forklifts can be reversed according to the above disassembly methods. After installation, add a new forklift brake oil to the brake oil jug and then press the brake pedal. After installing the brake pads of the forklift, you need to enter the car and step on the brake pedals 3-5 times, the purpose is to drive the sub-pump piston through the brakes, thereby squeezing the brake pads of the forklift and resetting the piston. Then exclude the air in the brake sub-pump, after discharging the air in the brake sub-pump, and then adjust the gap between the brake pad and the brake hub again according to different situations, so that the friction surface of the brake reaches the contact of the maximum position to play the best braking effect.
