Rough terrain machine now available with scrap baler attachment for recycling applications

PETTIBONE/Traverse Lift LLC, US manufacturers of heavy-duty material handling equipment, have released a new scrap baler attachment for their Cary-Lift 204i rough terrain forklift truck.

The latest attachment will allow the forklift to handle debris and materials in demolition and recycling applications, extending the machine’s versatility and increasing its safety and performance benefits over other material handling alternatives in the market.

The Cary-Lift 204i features an overhead lift arm design, giving operators full-front visibility when lifting or transporting loads. It can also tilt down 90° for specialized lifting tasks.

Powered by a 200hp Cummins QSB6.7 Tier 4 diesel engine with DOC and SCR after-treatment technologies, the forklift truck provides a maximum load capacity of 20,000 lbs and a maximum lift height of 16ft. Other features include an engine-driven fan, cooling package, and engine block heater as standard equipment.

The Cary-Lift 204i offers four-wheel drive with two-wheel, four-wheel and crab hydraulic power steering modes. With the wheelbase limited to 12ft, the 204i can achieve a turning radius of 21ft 6 inches.

Unlike forward-reaching articulated loaders, Pettibone say the Cary-Lift’s heavy-duty, solid steel frame design allows it to take full loads into sharp turns without sacrificing load capacity or stability. Hydraulic frame sway control and side shift capabilities help to stabilize loads by leveling the lifting frame when driving on uneven ground.

Additionally, the sway cylinder moves 7° both right and left of the centre, and dual joysticks provide intuitive controls to efficiently shift gears and control the hydraulics. The Cary-Lift 204i rough terrain forklift is available with Pettibone’s optional X-Command telematics system, which offers real-time access to machine data.
